Abstract
The product life cycle brings into play actors with different trades, each contributing to the definition, the realization or the integration of a certain product aspect. Our article aims at concentrating all the product related information in a global model, in order to furnish new product modelling methodologies, thus leading to establish a new product model. Starting by a state of the art evolving around different product modelling approaches, then how to extract product models through conversion, we end up exposing the prospects for a meta-modelling product centered approach favoring to release the concepts of inter trades common objects, as well as the objects to be set up in order to bridge the semantic hollowness existing between these concepts.
